    He clearly is looking for a bigger, longer deal than he was offered this year.

    How odd... a 1 year deal was the best offer for Johnson? Either there's something we don't know about him that caused GMs to shy away, or he was just wanting way more money than anyone was willing to risk.

    I think Buffalo was talking multi-year but it may not have been close to what he wanted to get in guaranteed money.

    I'd think that someone would have been willing to offer at least $5M / year... Didn't Bennett get around $4.5M to be the #3? Was Johnson looking for Moss/Fitzgerald money?

    If I were looking to sign a 1 year deal, have a good year, and look for a big pay day after that year...a team that employed Alex Smith would be dead last on my list. Martz can only do so much.

    I wonder if this is an indication of just how bad a passer the rest of the league thinks Vince is. I'm not saying I have any proof that the Titans were even interested in Bryant Johnson, but I don't see how he thinks a season with Alex Smith will improve his value.

    if anything alex smith will decrease and kill his value. If anything he shoulda worked his way into our system where he coulda stole the show, and had a much better chance at being succesful personally and team wise.
