Fisher didn't like Kenny Britt. All there was to it.

Wouldn't be the first player he's held hostage on the bench while crappier players have to get hurt in order for them to shine.

I'm not sure. This probably sounds ridiculous, but does it even matter? If he's not making top WR money, but he's performing like a top WR, he'll hold out to get the money. They all do.

What costarica doesn't understand(among other things) is WRs can play effectively in to their 30's, whereas running backs typically fall apart somewhere between 28 and 30.

Chris Johnson will be 26 in September, so you have to wonder how many more effective years he has left. Will he be Shaun Alexander or Emmitt Smith? Kenny Britt has a lot more of a career ahead of him, while Chris Johnson has one opportunity to get his money.

Assuming Britt stays out of trouble(big assumption) and his hamstring doesn't become a chronic issue, I don't foresee paying him becoming an ugly situation.

    EDIT

He also came in to the league as the 20 year old, so he'll be 25 at the end of that deal, whereas Chris Johnson will be 28 at the end of his current deal(which will obviously not be the one he plays with).

lol Seriously though. He knows if he can stay healthy and perform like he did when healthy last season, his value would be much higher than it is now. Right now people are too worried he'll get arrested or explode his hamstring to value him as high as his skills would demand.
