So I hear we have been having some wild weather back in my hometown of Brisbane. Three severe Thunder storms in the last 5 days and they have declared it a natural disaster area.

My house in Australia is in the suburb next to Everton Hills - http://media01.couriermail.com.au/multimedia/2008/11/storm_map/storm.htm

There were some pretty wild pictures and video of the storms out there.

Yeah. We haven't had many cyclones over the last 5-10 years. I remember we'd get 1 or 2 every summer when I was growing up.

I'm really spewing that I missed it. Nothing better than standing out on the back deck of your Queenslander watching a storm front come in and hearing the rain belt down on your corrugated iron roof.

Some persons deck got crushed and they were meant to have the wedding on it today.

There was something like 250mm of rain 2 nights ago. At least it is good for the drought situation, and Bananas might be cheap again.

I am surprised the cricket got in a full day.

You know the price of Bananas went up a heap a few years back BECAUSE of a storm? The Innisfail Cyclone (Larry?) wiped out most of Australia's Banana plantations. I think our 2nd largest banana growing area is on the NSW Hinterland (near Murwillumbah) so be careful what you wish for.

Yes but they were wiped out, hopefully these ones just got a lot of water.

    What I love about Australia:

The big issue these days is obesity and children so what happens? The price of fruit/vegetables goes up and junk food stays the same. Smart.

Listening to the cricket on the radio and they were saying there were hailstones up to 17cm in diameter in Blackwater.
