He wouldn't have, for us. He'd have been third string on our team, so unless CJ or Ringer went down, he wouldn't even dress.

He was playing emotional, swinging his arms around in excitement after his runs. He definately was playin on the emotional edge, but looked powerful, good.

My point was that Shaw and Bailey would have and have in fact contributed more than Blount would have in these first games. From what I've seen during the games they've both been the ones making the tackles on special teams. Roll your eyes all you want, but Blount wouldn't even be active right now for the Titans.

Blount is like the bone my dog refuses to give up. The meat is long gone, but he keeps hoping it'll come back.

    I liked Blount...but he's history.

You assume he wouldn't win the #2 job. You also aren't looking in the future, how do we know he wont be really good down the line?

That's not the problem. The problem is he would have been a healthy scratch the entire season because he would have been the third runningback and wouldn't have played special teams.

Hawkins and Rusty Smith are already healthy scratches because they don't play special teams. How many guys can you keep on the roster who aren't going to help you on a weekly basis?

There's a practice squad for guys like Blount. Just so happens the Bucs are a horrible team and they felt Blount's talent was better than the 53rd guy on their roster.

    This is an assumption.

If the coaches thought he was going to be the second back and play special teams this year he would have been on the roster instead of trying to sneak him on to the PS.

He was a healthy scratch for the first two weeks on the Bucs roster. He's the FOURTH runningback on that team. The guys in front of him? Cadillac Williams, Kareem Huggins and Greg Lumpkin.

The only reason he was active against the Steelers is because Huggins was hurt the week before.
