    Pro-days are worthless to me.

That's like me auditioning from my living room rather than on stage where everyone else does... but with my own script. On my own terms. Doing things I'm comfortable with.

    GMs are stupid.

I would recommend it to anyone that spends time in this sub-forum. You get a walk-thru of the season from pretty much all perspectives --- pro prospect in college, college coach, agent, college compliance director, scout, GM, etc.

I agree... this pro days are look at entirely what the players are good at... they don't show you what's bad about them... We need to know both sides of the coin and have them show whatever weakness they have and if they're willing to fix it

Haha what a poooosay, but it's what I expected of a guy that I have been getting a 2nd round grade from all of his tape. He's being an itsy bitsy scardy cat. I'd love Newton over him because atleast he's being transparent.

Tell me more about your grading system.

Have you watched Mizzou's actual film and not youtube highlights? Have you watched him warm up? Have you measured him? Have you interviewed his coaches, professors, etc?

Gabbert may be terrible or he may be great, but I can't help but chuckle when any of us act like we are basing this on anything more than a "gut feeling".

I don't have a problem with just throwing on pro day. Would prefer him throwing at the combine so scouts can compare his delivery and arm strength to other QB prospects.

Cutler threw at the combine and clearly had the strongest arm and i think it helped him. If Gabbert has the big stud arm and the perfect delivery he should show it in front of everybody.

Would be interested if Cam will throw in Indy. Probably not but with Gabbert opting out it would be a great opportunity for him. Newton has not been shy about letting people see him workout.

Not necessarily. Gabbert won't have to compete with the other prospects at his pro day and he will likely be throwing to receivers he played with the last 2 years. It is an advantage but not a huge one. His agent apparently feels he is a lock for a top 10 pick so why take a chance but if you think you are the baddest dude on the block you should want to prove that to everybody.

I don't just watch youtube highlights to give him a 2nd round grade (I posted one on here to prove a point about how he plays). I have watched several full Missouri games with Gabbert as the QB (although they're not on often in the UK, maybe twice a year) and I thought he had a good arm, a good release and made some nice short throws. BUT he is the product of a SPREAD OFFENSE, he runs away from pressure that is not even there, he doesn't make great reads, he doesn't take snaps from under center and he has a relatively easy offensive system in which most of the college QB's expected to get drafted would thrive in. I graded him based on how much his strengths outweighed his weaknesses and he didn't come out as high as some of the other QB's hence why I personally think is a round 2 prospect.

Also I have a question for you, why are you being such a homer for Gabbert? Why do you think he deserves to go in the 1st round? And if he is so good why is he not throwing at the combine like everyone else?

Edit: Also on answering your other questions, no I haven't watched him warm up, and I don't care to, all that matters is what happens on the field in terms of football. The interview is the coaches concern not mine. No, I haven't measured him (although you probably knew that already), and why would I need to? He looks big enough to be an NFL QB and even if he was huge it doesn't change his talent level. No, I haven't interviewed his coaches, it's the job of the Titans staff to do that. Plus finally, no, I haven't interviewed his professor. I don't care how clever he is, as long as he can do pretty well in the wonderlic he'll be just fine. If everyone just listened to what the professors say then all of the starting QB's would be from freaking Harvard...

He's going in the first ten picks regardless of whether he throws at the combine or not. A lot of the top QBs don't throw at the combine. I know VY only threw at his pro day and he was still the first QB off the board.

I'm speaking generally. I watch a lot of football and read a lot about football and pride myself in being knowledgeable. However, I'm kidding myself if I think that I know better than scouts. Simply put, I don't have their resources.

I'm definitely not a Gabbert homer, though I did put him tops on my QB list. I've stated repeatedly that I want the Titans to take D at #8. I put him tops at QB because Newton has some baggage, Mallett has some character concerns, and Locker hasn't shown much development over 4 years. I don't know if he deserves to go in the 1st round, but if you are looking to draft a QB, it looks like you are going to have to take him in the first.

It has already been stated why he doesn't plan to throw at the combine. There really isn't anything that he can gain from doing so other than trying to win respect from random people on the internet.
