Ik your kidding, but A 5th round pick can never be considered a bust.
what about a #10?
No doubt VY was a bust. I have a tough time separating his OROY production. He at least produced some wins. He busted hard from year 3 on- definitely fell apart at the seams.
I agree he was the biggest bust so far. Unfortunately, I think we reached hard with Locker and everything I see suggests he isn't going to be the franchise guy we were hoping for.
All depends on how you want to look at it. There are the guys who were taken high and were reasonably productive but just never lived up to their draft position (e.g. VY). Then there are the guys who just contributed absolutely nothing or next-to-nothing (e.g. Henry).
While I agree that VY was the most damaging to the franchise, I have a hard time calling him a bigger bust than a guy like Chris Henry. Especially since I do think Fisher didn't quite help matters. Not making excuses for VY. He did most of it to himself. But I think his confidence was broken fairly early and he was always looking over his shoulder. I think that definitely messed with his head and affected his play at times. Sometimes I can't help but wonder how VY would've turned out if we had a less stubborn/more innovative HC when he was drafted.
Anyway, I'm rambling. Henry gets my vote. 2nd round pick who lasted 2 seasons with the team and contributed 122 yards and 2 TDs during that time. Complete waste of a 1st-day pick.
Yea Chris Henry sure did suck. And what really sucks is how he's remembered, by a Colts player leveling him.
Also, Lendale shouldn't even be in the discussion IMO. 2,349 yards and 24 TDs in 4 seasons (2 of which he was splitting carries with CJ). Not too shabby if you ask me. Sure he didn't turn into Eddie George 2.0 like we had all hoped. But we've certainly done a lot worse with some of our 2nd round picks.
If we would have kept VY after Fisher was sent packing, then VY would have produced quite well here and he would prolly still be here. There's no denying that the Vince we saw the last two years was a complete qb. He was very efficent at throwing the ball, produced good numbers, and was one of the best deep ball throwers in the game.
Busts are guys who do absolutely nothing for your team.
Woolfolk, Calico, and Henry have to be our biggest busts. They did NOTHING. This is assuming 2nd round picks count as busts.
I would say VY was a bust, but like others said, at least he won us games and provided some great finishes (Giants and Cards games).
If you are a first round pick, and don't finish out your original contract with the team, you are a bust flat out. How one can argue otherwise is beyond me. You don't draft someone that high and have them spend less than 5 years on your team. Thats stupid, drop your love affair with Young and call a spade a spade. Not a single other franchise would have liked to have gone through what we did.
Lol I don't love VY AT ALL. It's one of those situations where I should consider him a bust... Just not our biggest bust.
Woolfolk, Calico, and Henry were useless PoS who did absolutely nothing for us.
Whatever, why don't you just go marry him then.
I don't consider non-first rounders busts. A first round player is supposed to be a staple and a guy that has a good shot at making it at the NFL. Vince had the talent, but not the maturity. Thats a bust, no matter what way you spin it.
