I'd think the difference is in the appeal to the players. More money to be made in NewYork,Chicago,Dallas, and other large cities than in Nashville, Jacksonville, etc.

It doesn't mean anything right now, but it will be huge if there is no cap and teams are free again to seek their own TV deals. What proof did he offer??? According to Forbes, it would be feasible for someone to buy a team for the prices listed. First thing, it' untested; the teams aren't being sold. Second thing, it has NOTHING to do with the local market. Third thing, it's beyond the point. Big Market vs Small Market isn't what is, it is what will be if there is no cap, and I believe there are teams banking on there not being a cap in the near future. Look at the contracts I linked to.

You are correct. Right now, it means nothing, as we have a level playing field (though the larger markets can still lure players wanting to be seen more and get their name across more lips), but if the league goes uncapped...

Exactly, it doesn't mean much right now. But for some players that are looking to maximize the money they can make in advertisements or other business deals, Chicago, NY is still more appealing than Green Bay and Jax. I'm sure it influences some free agents in deciding where to sign.

It's in the interest of the owners to keep the league competitive. Also, there are more small/mid market teams who have it in their best interest to share revenue.

The cap won't go away because players also want true competition. Players/NFLPA despise Upshaw and how he bends over for the owners. The league is pitting vets against rookies. It's slowly crumbling from inside. Basically vets are saying that teams let proven and valuable vets walk while rookies get large guaranteed money without playing a down of pro football.

Vets want that situation reversed, paying vets guaranteed money with rookies getting entry level money and earning roster spots.

Think of it this way, Titans get a DE in the first round. That unproven guy gets the contract Albert covets.

Keep lying to yourself if it makes you feel better about your team playing in a dump with an owner that is a disgrace to humanity.

still a little bitter over the breakup?

you sound like that deranged ex-girlfriend who is bitter over the ways things turned out and now has to compensate by using creating her own reality of the way things are.

it'll be ok, Adams sends his love from above .500

I just have a thing about lies stated as fact. If you don't, I pity you. Well I pity you anyway.
