All very fair points. At the same time, there's a difference between not "unleashing" your QB (putting the game on his shoulders) and coddling/protecting him to the point where you aren't allowing him to make the kind of throws that your average NFL starting QB is expected to make in any given game. IMO we've been playing scared on offense through 2 weeks. IDK if that's simply a product of the gameplan against two tough defenses, or if there's a bigger problem here with them not trusting Jake enough to make those kind of throws on a consistent basis. Either way, we need to grow a pair on offense or I think we're in for a frustrating season. It'd be different if our rushing attack was just shredding defenses. But they're not. We're averaging 3.1ypc. That's 25th in the NFL. Yet we're #1 in rushing attempts. Something here doesn't add up.
