Football forum is probably not the best place to look for these type of answers but what the hey.. Anyone have any special tips on optimizing hand-made movies/vids for YouTube? I spent hours trying to get a good-looking finished product on YT last night. Exported master looks fine, but the minute YT gets ahold of it their compression absolutely ruins it. Uber-compression artifacts galore... YouTube help doesn't have any real answers and Final Cut has so many Export options you could spend your life making adjustments.. Doesn't help either that the YT uploader works sometimes at best.. Any insight is greatly appreciated...
ive tried to post on youtube and have the same problem. video looks fine but after the compression it looks like crap but i dont understand because there are many videos on youtube with good video quality
I've had mixed results with uploading youtube vids. I just use Windows Movie Maker. I create the vid at the lowest resolution that looks decent for local playback and then I upload it. If you start with a great looking video, yt will trash it. If you can get it small enough to start with the yt algorithm won't eff with it as much. Not a great answer, but it might help.
if you have video of quality, try Vimeo what about YouTube's HD ? nevermind, it's still compressed to ****
I use Vimeo as well and they kick YouTube's butt in picture quality. YouTube simply gets more views.. Do you know if we can embed Vimeo vids here?
Well look at that.. It does work.. <object width="400" height="300"><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="movie" value="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=2755906&server=vimeo.com&show_title=1&show_byline=1&show_portrait=0&color=&fullscreen=1" /><embed src="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=2755906&server=vimeo.com&show_title=1&show_byline=1&show_portrait=0&color=&fullscreen=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" width="400" height="300"></embed></object><br /><a href="http://vimeo.com/2755906">Skillet The Bulldog in FREEDOM OF CHOICE</a> from <a href="http://vimeo.com/user1123879">Jeano Roid</a> on <a href="http://vimeo.com">Vimeo</a>.
