Uh... no, you're apparently the one who didn't watch the first LSU v. Alabama game.

This was pretty much the same game only with Alabama not choking on their kicks and not making offensive mistakes.

Yeah, see, you just proved that you are completely blinded by bias in this discussion and have 0 idea as to of what you're talking about.

LSU's offensive game isn't based around Jefferson. It's based around their run game. LSU uses three talented backs to win their games. Also, they tend to have a disruptive defense that gets turnovers as well as a killer special teams unit.

When Alabama stopped the run and stopped the option, there wasn't much left that LSU could do. And if you had actually watched the game last night, Jefferson was constantly under pressure.

Alabama is built to stop the run. They also have a secondary filled with guys who will be going to the NFL. There was nothing LSU could do against them. Alabama's only weakness was their special teams, and they obviously tightened that up and prepared.

On the defensive side, LSU obviously prepared for Trent Richardson. Hell, every analyst was talking about how this game would be decided by how Richardson played. And instead, McCarron came out firing and had a damn solid game. I doubt LSU saw that coming, and once he did they didn't know what to do.

Now, you want to talk about OSU vs. LSU. OK, OSU is ranked -->93rd<-- in the country in terms of run defense. 93rd!!!!!!!

You want to know what LSU v. OSU would have looked like? It would have been LSU running the ball down their throats all night. LSU has the second best defense in the nation, and there's no doubt they would have been prepared for Blackmon and Weedun.

LSU v. OSU would have been SSDD for LSU. OSU doesn't have the run defense to stop LSU. Who did? Alabama.

And before you and Deuce and whoever else starts whining about LSU not playing the same last night, let me remind you:
This was the same game that happened on Nov. 5. The only difference was that Alabama's special teams stepped up and Alabama's offense didn't make ANY mistakes. Alabama was the better team then and they are the better team now. They are the 2011 BCS National Champions. Roll Tide!!!!!!

And IF Oklahoma St. didn't choke in OT, Alabama wouldn't even be in this.

They weren't even in their conference championship.

They played one great team all year. LSU...after a 40 day lay-off that apparently had the worst effect possible.

Didn't seem to have an effect on Alabama. And again, this game looked exactly the same. Unfortunately, your childish bias blinds you from the fact that Alabama's D held LSU down in the first game too. It was offensive/special teams problems that cost Alabama that game.

And LSU was the only good team Alabama played?

    Who won the Cotton Bowl?
    Who won the Chick-fil-A Bowl?
    Who won the Gator Bowl?
Who won the Music City Bowl?

And who beat every team that is an answer to the above questions?

    Thought so.

Oh, and who won the National Championship game?

The Alabama Crimson Tide. 2011 BCS National Champions

Really? You're using bowl games featuring 7-6 teams as a justification for the great teams Alabama beat?

Are you just having a go?

    Or are you being serious?...

The lay-off clearly affected LSU. Whether it did Alabama or not is irrelevant. All they had to do was have a pulse to stop Jefferson.

Deuce, do you know anything about football? Do you know anything about the teams you are trying to bash? Anything at all?

Jefferson isn't the focal point of the LSU offense. Their run game is. Alabama stopped that.

And my point with the bowl games was that those teams did well enough to make a bowl game, and then won their bowl game. You cannot say Alabama "didn't beat anybody" when they beat a handful of bowl winning teams this season. Because really, how would you make an argument for Oregon or Stanford or OSU? Who exactly did they beat that was so much more impressive than who Alabama beat?

    Remember:
Arkansas only lost to two teams. Alabama and LSU. #1 and #2
OSU only lost to... uh... Iowa State... which is #... uh... nothing.

Arkansas WAS generic Okla State. All offense and no defense.

Being good enough to make bowl games means nothing. They barely kept their head above going .500.

And if you want to talk vs bowl teams- Alabama beat 3.

OKState beat quite a few more than that. (cant remember)

Ok State also beat far more quality opponents. So we can spin it any way.

But we know LSU played a tougher schedule all year, beat Alabama at home, killed Oregon, etc, won their conference Championship.... No question they're the better team.

They just came out completely flat. And it had very little to do with anything Alabama did.
