Barrett Ruud Worst Pass-Rushing LB of 2011

Tampa was happy to see him go.

I know a few Bucs fans. They all said the same thing about Ruud - he sucks and they were glad when they didn't re-sign him. He makes a ton tackles, but he's always out of position. When he makes tackles, they're 3-4 yards beyond where he should be making them.

I was very happy when we signed Ruud... only because I remember him getting around 150 tackles every year. I assumed he was good. Wrong.

 

Maybe the Animal just made Ruud seem worse than he was.

McCarthy is a hunter, he stalks his prey and strikes. Love watching that guy chase down ball carriers.

I was big on signing Ruud. Thought he would be a good veteran leadership role.

Should've listened to my friend in Tampa who said not to get my hopes up.

Oh well, better that McCarthy was a great surprise than Ruud being good.

 

My favorite player other than David Stewart. If he keeps improving we may have a future hall of famer on our hands.

Know I was pumped up about him during draft, never seem him on the field much though...too undersized or what?

 

What an awful pick that was.

 

yea he was cut last year i believe and whoever was the one to pick him needs to be cut as well if he has not been already. guy was just way to short to be a linebacker.

 

It's a meaningless stat because he wasn't used a a pass rusher for us. We don't blitz our MLB's that much.

What he didn't do well was stop the run and his strong point was coverage and he was at best average at that. I'm glad we only signed him to a one year deal.(He was not cut)
