The Band weren't all that great..they sold a million albums when they showed up but mostly they've been the top granola hippie nostalgia act since then. It was more about when they appeared than what they appeared with. Lol at every party jam here wanting to play "The Weight"...it crashes and burns at the harmony every time.

I have always liked The Band. Never a top favorite but they have their moments. With some proud southerners here I am sure they would get some votes for The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down. I myself prefer the Joan Baez cover of that song.

I think this is my favorite

Oh yeah..."TNTDODD"...was trying to remember that tune...horrible lead vocal, but yeah, Southerners ate it up and my dad made it a standard in his piano repertoire.

A song written by a Canadian for the south. Hopefully makes up for Neil Young's Southern Man. Neil is Canadian in name only anyway.

And like I said, the Joan Baez cover is much better

Southerners can whine all they want but Neil had a point.

Hey, remember that game show?...."Make Joan Baez Laugh"?

Did not last too long if memory serves. I would have rather made her cum, always found her hot.

There are other good Canadian bands I could have snuck in there too. Like Chilliwack.

Damn, the Doobie Brothers didn't make it either. What is wrong with you people? How did Mumford, MGMT and Leon Redbone make it before the Doobie Brothers?

See that dude to the right of Michael McDonald?...that's guitarist Patrick Simmons. That dude came up to me and started chatting and gave me some major props about my rig and tone (which was Stingray humbucker that day). That was a cool moment.
