You dont? Mett could very well likely get abetter return than mMarshall. Marshalls old, paid big $, and a wr. Metts a qb who has shown big time potential , very young, and paid almost less than anyone in the nfl

 

That's true, but the Jets also traded for Marshall's contract, which was huge. Mett's is pennies and QBs who get drafted but don't play for a year seem to get overhyped/overvalued.

 

Marshall is not old yet, although probably past the prime of his career. How can you say Mett has shown big time potential compared to Marshall, Marshall is one of only five players in NFL history to catch at least 100 passes in three consecutive seasons, has been to 5 pro bowls.

I think that Mett is still unproven and could still go either way between starter or bench warmer, although his ceiling is no where near what Brandon Marshall's was and still is. Marshall is undoubtedly going to be the Jets number one receiver, Mettenberger may not ever start an NFL game again.

 

Mettenberger played his first year...I'm confused what you are saying with that point.
I think that QB's who get to sit for a year behind a vetran QB end up better off than QB's who are expected to be day one starters.
