    Discuss the lame duck scenarios.

Stole the below from another thread. I actually think it will look better for a new Head Coach in 2015 instead of 2014 because a lot of these busters will no longer be on the team. I bolded a few people I think are of significant note.

I hate it, hate it, but I would not re-sign Alt Verner if he is going to be paid like Finnegan was a few years ago. I just wouldn't want to throw that contract on Munch's lame duck year and saddle the new coach with two long-term CBs already signed.

Extending drunky and Kern now could be a good move.

    Extend Casey today!

Too early to extend Wright I guess but I'd like too.

Think I'd wait on Roos. Risky to do that though.

Free agency, I would spend on one year guys, like Pollard. I would not sign any Levitre type deals, cause again I wouldn't want to burden the next HC with a longterm deal.

Really hope the interior O-line shows improvement and can be strong point for a new coaching staff.

Why is Bironas called a drunk these days? Did I miss something?

He's earned his reputation around Nashville. I like the guy, I probably shouldn't call him that on the message board really. I just think it's funny.

I really never clarified my point of making this thread or just post.

I think the Titans are MORE attractive next year than this year, in regards to player personnel and a new head coaches flexibility to bring in new players.

If we do cut big contracts this offseason we can absorb the dead cap money and have a ton of cap space in 2015 which will be nice.

Munch isn't going to do that in the last year of his contract when he needs to win (apparently)

I think it could be really attractive to any HC to have:

    Lots of Cap Space

A good interior O-line (here is hoping Warmack/Levitre/Schwenke show improvement)

A great slot WR in Wright

A very talented WR in Hunter

A great DT, good CB, and maybe some other pieces here and there on D.

Not to mention the hope that we will land a strong player in this years draft.

Head coaches don't choose teams based on the players they have. Maybe QBs, but definitely not slot WRs and players like that.

Coaches care about 1) strong ownership, 2) good general manager, 3) money, 4) prestige (e.g., the tradition in Green Bay).

The Titans don't have any of those. It won't be a particularly attractive job as long as Smith is running the show.
