I don't think any of the guys they mentioned could come in and earn a spot on an NFL team right away. Sure, Lebron and others have great athletic ability, and maybe with a couple years of training could be NFL players, but right out of the gate, I really don't think so. Besides, all of these athletes make/made more money than NFL players, so there would be no reason to risk their health for a PR stunt football career.

I don't think they mean that they could do it tomorrow or anything.

Just perhaps if they chose football over basketball.

Antonio Gates was one of those guys at one point.

I laugh every single time they talk about LeBron could be a TE or WR, he could, I mean Hank Baskett somehow played WR in the NFL for years even thou he couldn't catch. Plus LeBron is trash closing meaningful games, and since all games in the NFL are meaningful, does that mean he'd drop every 3rd & long thrown his way? If you ask me, he'd make for a good DE.

I just don't see Lebron being tough enough to play in the NFL. He's always whining about something.

Lebron would find a way to travel in the NFL.

    No doubt.

The only issues I could see arising are injury concerns, how well they can handle the contact of the sport. No doubt that many of these spectacular athletes would be spectacular in Football if that's what they chose to spend their life working at.

But they were smart in that they didn't. If you can play a msport and still be able to walk 10 years after retiring, you should play that sport instead of Football. The only less reasonable major sports to play health-wise I could think of would be meathead sports like cagefighting or boxing. You generally must have not much value for your life or brain by doing these.

Lebron wouldn't be a QB. That's the difference. QBs can be as whiny as they like, especially star QBs. And besides that, there'r much worse cases than Brady.. namely Manning, Rivers, and Cutler.
