I don't totally disagree on the restructuring needing to be done if he remains a back-up. But what will you think when Young takes the wild cat formation to another level? If he generate 10 TD's is he worth his money? Also when I said down the road, I meant down the road I wasn't stating this week, this month or this year. I still think the Titans don't fully trust Collins, and is why he only got a 2 year contract (even if he is damn near 63-years old)

in a word NO. he'd haveta score 20 with very few INTs or Fumbles..and even then no way he makes 11-14 mil as a backup

Not to sound like a broken record but if Vince hits the field in the Wildcat or as a backup QB he's gonna get hurt. Does he have the spirit to come back from yet another injury? You make the call..

I like Vince, but will he see the field this year. No. Not gonna happen. So whatever decision that leaves us with is how it will play. But there will be no field work to make a decision on. It's going to come down to money. Do we want to pay him or not. If Collins is qb, which he is, there is no reason to pay him.

The Wildcat is a defensable offense and I hope we never see it. It shouldn't work. There's no rational reason it should be effective unless you have a distinct advantage in talent. Do we have the personell to run it. Yes. But when Vince comes in everybody will know what we are doing so how could it possibly work unless VY is the full time qb and we spring it.

I can't see us using the wildcat.

It needs a RB with a RB's instincts.VY is unpredictable as a runner from under centre but unless we line up with KFC under centre and VY as an extra man I don't see that we do have the personnel.

Can Johnson,White,Ringer or Little throw the ball with any accuracy? Can VY run behind designed blocks?

I'm not feeling it at all.

VY didn't use his legs when he was healthy the last season he actually played, so why anyone thinks he'll run anywhere else is beyond me.
In the wildcat he'll try to prove he can throw and mess everything up.

Yes there is, you have an extra blocker. On a running play the QB does nothing except hand off and watch. In the wildcat the QB lines out wide and occupies a CB.

That also allows the guy who originally lined up wide(Cook ideally) on that side to slide inside and gives you an extra blocker in the box.

Personally if they want to feature vince's running ability just give him a series each half or at least each game with plays that he has practiced dozens of times in practice.

Vince brought all of this on himself .... again! Why in the world did he think he needed to "clear the air" after the debacle he was in last year? He should have just kept quiet IMO. Keep on avoiding the media and just work on improving your QB skills. He hasn't grown up in one year, like he said he has. He has a lot more maturing to do, and you can't do it all in a few short months. He also needs to sue U of Texas for giving him a degree. (He did finally get his degree didn't he?) If he doesn't sue the U of T, then he needs to sue the English department because they failed him miserably.
    1 people high five this.
