Yea, but they also have pro bowl caliber QB's throwing the ball to pro bowl receivers.

We have Kerry Collins throwing to Justin Gage and Brandon Jones. I'll take a 59:1 pass/int ratio if every pass was a screen with those guys.

Maybe those QBs need to shorten up their game because they are throwing too many ints.

Drew brees throws 68% more ints from the same number of passes. Is that justified? we all know the value of taking care of the football.

FYI 55% of collins pass completions are to the backs and TEs while 57% of drew brees' comps are to the backs and TEs. The saints are not a deep throwing team either.

so true... and the stupid thing is that about 3 weeks ago the combined record of our opponents was actually better than the combined record of the Giants opponents. I'm sure the past 2 weeks has changed that, but still... At least we're laying the wood to these teams instead of tanking or squeaking by (see Colts-Browns, 49ers-Jets).

Yep, there are so many teams that play all-or-nothing on both sides of the ball... Dallas perhaps being the worst example. When it works everyone thinks they're on to the SB, and when it doesn't it's ugly. I'd love to play poker against some of these offensive coordinators. Collins is quietly doing a fantastic job of executing at the QB position.

Hey, over the last two weeks, our past opponents have gotten considerably better. The Texans and Colts are on big streaks.

A big part of the INT numbers are that those QBs have to take chance to try and catch up. We really have not had much of a problem with that this year, so KFC can dink and dunk it in the 4th quarter.

I got to give kudos to Mike Heimerdinger, he came in here and definitely revamped this offense. He is doing exactly what Fisher brought him in here to do and that is score points. He takes chances and that is what separates him from Chow. That play action pass on 4th down was a great call to Hall, and gave us the momentum for the rest of the game. Besides Collins running the offense effectively he has to get praise for what hes done with the offense this year IMO.

RollTide - I think Brees is still on pace to throw for over 5,000 yards this season... which is pretty impressive considering that defenses line up against the Saints knowing that they will passing the ball most of the time, and that he has little support from the running game. Not to mention that the Saints offense is forced to score a lot of points to win games because of their below average defense. How many INTs do you think Collins or Young would be throwing if they were put in that same situation? I'd say a lot.

By the way, the Saints' third-string WR might finish the season with as many receptions as Jones, Gage and McCareins combined.

Hoffa - You're absolutely right about those people. Fortuntely, this thread is not about the strength of schedule of other teams.

That's the fault of their system. They don't make any real effort to establish a running game.

The titans keep running the ball even when we are not overly effective. There were a lot of games in which eddie would get 20 carries and for less than 70 yards. Look at 2002 and 2003 when eddie had over a thousand yards yet only averaged 3.35 over that time. We never gave up on running the ball because it was important to help our defense and control the clock.

Sean payton thinks he can outsmart defenses by throwing the ball all over the lot that's fine.

Brees can get his 5000 yards and be considered the best QB sitting it out during playoff time.
