Are the Texans that much better than us?

I am not sure what the David Carr expansion Texans have to do with this years team? What I do know is if the titans do not finish above Texans in the standings this year... That will be 4 years in a row.

Our D will likely be better than last years and I have to think that this year... AJ, Schaub, and Foster will be on the field at the same time more than a total of a half a game, as was the case last year.

Not to play the devil's advocate but exactly what % do the Titans have using that logic? Not much better especially if you look at recent history. Using that logic the Colts have the best chance of winning the division.

This is the problem with you Texan fans. You think finishing above someone is the final division standings is "putting them in their place". OK, I guess I can see why you would think that ... I mean your fan base needs something to hang their hats on. There sure hasn't been many division titles and playoff births, so I guess finishing 2nd/3rd in the division means something to you still. Hate to break the news to you, but 2nd in the division is just the 1st one to lose. I don't think any other NFL team would brag about that, I sure wouldn't.

And lets take a look out of those 3 years in a row of finishing above us ...

2011 - Texans had a better record (by 1 game) and split the series with us, but you won the division. Congrats. (It was bound to happen one day)

2010 - Texans finish 3rd, and had the same record as us (6-10) and split the series. (wow, really showed the Titans that year)

2009 - Texans finish 2nd (Titans 3rd), and had a record better by one game, 9-7 to 8-8. (Can't believe we got owned so bad by you guys that year, ouch ... )

Oh yeah, you have really been putting the Titans in their place the last few years.

All those are years you had Schaub and AJ so quit crying about Carr. If anything you should be ashamed that you couldn't do better at taking on the KFC/VY/Rusty Smith trio at QB.

I think you missed the point entirely and Soxcat hit on this already. Your logic is flawed. I am simply looking at these two teams objectively and I am pretty confident in that we have the better current team than you. I could really care less what happened 5 or 10 years ago. I am going of recent trends and rosters. You can pretty much go to any other fans message boards and they would agree. Very few people are picking the titans to win the division for a reason. Not because we are all high and mighty as a fan base for winning it last year. All I am saying is that we are clearly going to have to continue to "prove" to you that we have the better team and that we are for real. At one point we were always going to be a losing team. Then we would never reach .500. Then we would never have a winning team. We would never win the division. We will never win a playoff game. Yada, yada, yada. I guess we are going to have to show you this year that we can and WILL take the division again. I am not guaranteeing anything, but I would put my money on us before anyone else, so would most everyone. Again, anything can and does happen... but we will see soon enough won't we?
