I wasn't giving the Titans the edge because of Britt. It was all a hypothetical. Let me just sum up all my thoughts here, because I think some of you are confusing what I am trying to say ...

Ok. In response to the original topic of the thread ... I think as of now the Texans are a better overall team than the Titans, but I don't think they are "that" much better. They had an impressive year last year with a lot of injuries. However, the Titans were much better last year than I expected as well (also with a few key injuries), and I think we are improved with some key additions and the only real loss being Finny. I really like where the Titans team is heading. I love the talent we are acquiring and I love the attitude/maturity and leadership some of our guys are developing.

As of now are the Texans the Favorite to win the Div? I would say yes ... Are they a lock? Absolutely not. I think it will be a very close battle this year, and for years to come between the Titans and Texans for the AFCS crown. I would not be surprised to see either team win the Div this year, therefore the Texans are not "that" much better

Ok. In response to a hypothetical situation that was brought up later in the thread ... If both teams were 100% healthy who would I bet my house on? If JL is the starter, then I am taking the Titans. I think a healthy KB is better than AJ, I think Locker is a better playmaker than Schaub, and I think we have the better coach. Also, with a 100% healthy line and CJ, I would take CJ over Foster still. I also think the Titans are stocking up on some good play makers in Wright, Nate, Cook that could potentially be better than the Texans offense. If Derrick Morgan is 100% healthy and plays up to his potential, then I think we could have a very good young D as well. Good enough to give the Titans the edge.

The 1st part is my opinion for a real life scenario because nothing ever works out 100% in the real NFL like you want. The 2nd part is my opinion if it did.

That is all I was getting at.

The one area they really have us beat is defense. They're better in every defensive position with the exception of maybe safety.

So even though Locker has never started a game as a QB you would give him the edge over Schaub. I know you are being hypothetical but my goodness, Schaub made the Titans defense look like some JV team out there in the one game he played against us. And until the running game gets on track from being the worst in the league it is fantasy to say they have the edge over one of the best running teams in the league.

And yes, as RavensShallBurn stated, their defense right now is superior.

    So hypotheitcally;
if, CJ returns to his 2009 form (Texans were #2 last year rushing)
if, Locker ends up being a pro-bowl stud (Texans #4 in passing 2010, #1 2009)
if, the defense steps up and is one of the tops in the league (Texans #2 last year)
then, we would be close to the Texans

I'm not saying we can't compete with them or turn the tables but as of right now the Texans have a pretty big edge. When Schaub stays healthy their passing game is one of the tops in the league. They were #1 in the league in 2009 (that is better than the Saints, NE, Colts with Manning). In 2010 they were #4 in passing. They have a legit top 5 offense. You literally have to assume Locker is playing at a pro bolw level to top a healthy Schaub.

Go back before Britt's injury... look at the past 10 weeks in the NFL.

He was the best WR statistically in the league.

Don't feel like digging it up again.

You're right, Schuab is good when health ... until it matters. Then he chokes it away ...

I said "if we went with Locker" more as an indictment on Hass than anything ... I don't see Hass beating anyone with a good D. As far as Locker being as good as Schaub; excuse me for making our future QB a probowler in my hypothetical situation.

You guys are taking my hypothetical situation far too seriously ... I even said in that post that things never work out the way you want them to 100% of the time ... How about this, Locker has the potential to be better than Schaub, CJ has the potential to get back to '09 form, and Britt has the potential to be better than AJ. Never said they will or will not realize that potential, but it is there.

Sorry, but were not as good as the Texans until we can prove it.

Last year we barely beat their second team ffs lol.

I dont like it any more than anyone else but "prove it" still means a lot to me.

I understand where your coming from but lets also not forget that the Titans were a completely new team with a completely new identity. The lack of an off-season hurt teams in transition more than teams who had played together before. We also played with Hasselbeck rather than Locker when our team hit a mid-season lull and the defense was overworked.

We were also the team that took the Saints to the last play of the game and had enough talent to win maybe 3 or 4 of the other games we lost. There were very few games we lost because of being flat outplayed.
