First off I know Archuleta has been GROSSLY overpaid on his last two contracts and probably is not at all interested in redoing the long term deal the Skins gave him. His money is closer to Ed Reed money than LT money but his production is vice versa. Just throwing this out here since we were talking about safeties and his addition to the market could certainly shake up whats going on out there.

Wow and after all this time..

Archuleta played 5 years with the rams but only now have we realized the guy can't cover. What took so long?

This is a website that listed archuleta as the third best DB free agent last year. Woodson signed with the packers and the bills franchised clements. So the guy went from a highly sought FA, the top FA safety of 06 to a worthless plug not even the equal of lamont thompson? What a joke.

What we need is a guy with balls, a SS who comes up and hits people in the mouth. Doug plank was like that. Most strong safeties can't cover all that great and their primary job is to support on the run. He's a liability in coverage? Ok so replace him with fuller in some situations. One attribute of archuleta is that he reads well. He sees quickly what is happening on the field and reacts to it. That is thompson's biggest weak point. The play is half over and there is lamont still threading water with his finger up his butt. Lamont never sees the run soon enough to make a line of scrimmage tackle, this guy does. This guy might not be the complete player that blaine bishop was but he is a hell of a lot closer to bishop than LT.

Archuletta would certainly be better against the run, but he's probably worse than Lamont (I know, it's hard to believe) against the pass.

I don't want either, personally. Better to find someone who is actually good...
