You'd think "it's 2013 and people accept you for what you are" but that's not exactly the case. Probably much more so up there in CT than in places like here in TN. So it's not exactly easy, even in 2013. But I agree with you. And that's exactly what I was saying earlier in the thread. IF he is gay, and were to come out and be the first openly gay NFL player, that would end up being his legacy. Not this made up girlfriend stuff. I think it would fade into the distance surprisingly fast. He'd be a big time hero, not only in the gay community but in general. Sure not everyone would like it or accept him but who really cares? The positive reaction would easily outweigh the bad.
