Anyone Still Want Te'o After Reading This?

You'd think "it's 2013 and people accept you for what you are" but that's not exactly the case. Probably much more so up there in CT than in places like here in TN. So it's not exactly easy, even in 2013.

But I agree with you. And that's exactly what I was saying earlier in the thread. IF he is gay, and were to come out and be the first openly gay NFL player, that would end up being his legacy. Not this made up girlfriend stuff. I think it would fade into the distance surprisingly fast.

He'd be a big time hero, not only in the gay community but in general. Sure not everyone would like it or accept him but who really cares? The positive reaction would easily outweigh the bad.

I have a freind who is convinced Te'o did this to cover up closeted homosexuality. If he is gay it would be hard for him coming out. Besides playing football he is also a Mormon.

True. He could be a trail blazer. My old man was a major homophobe until a guy he worked with came out of the closet. I have seen it with others too. Still though. It is more than the football culture he has to deal with. He is also LDS, aka Mormon. For him coming out of the closet will be a lot harder.

Gay people are entertaining

Gay people have money too. If I had a team with terrible attendance (like all the teams in Florida) I would draft this guy for sure. Market to the gay community. They would come out just because he is gay.

Some struggling team in Florida needs to sign Tebow, then draft Te'o, and wear all the breast cancer gear all year long.

I think its funny that so many are jumping to the conclusion that he's gay. He did this for attention, plain and simple. However, I wouldn't put it past him to now claim that he is gay just to garner more attention.

The guy is a sociopath. No sane person, gay or strait, kills off a cover girlfriend when it would be just as easy to say you broke up. I repeat, he did this for attention.

Not unless you are trying to move the team.................

What should happen next is this fake girl should come forward saying Te'o tied her up and tried to kill her, that'd make a story.
