Anyone else pulling for the Colts?

I think with the amount of hype behind Luck you can't not draft him at this point. You do that or you trade the pick for every pick a team has in the draft plus some from next year's. Julio Jones set the bar for trading up to the top of the draft VERY high last year. I doubt anyone would be willing to bite for that.

If you don't draft luck - regardless of who your QB is - and he turns out to be great, you're gonna have a major fanbase meltdown. Peyton has an injured neck and isn't guaranteed to fully recover, Bradford hasn't impressed and Ponder can easily be replaced with Luck and you can do a Kevin Kolb type deal in a year or two.

Luck will go 1st, no doubt about it. I'd be curious to see if any team has the balls to trade up for him though.

I agree Luck won't live up to the hype, but he'll still be good. It's not necessarily Luck that I'm concerned about... It's the value of the #1 pick that scares me. It's worth 3 1st round picks.

So I root for the Colts because I don't want them getting 3 1st round picks.

I think a team would do something similar to the '99 Mike Ditka/Saints deal where they traded basically their whole draft in order to get RB Ricky Williams.

I was talking to my pal, who's a Vikes fan, and he wants them to trade it. Besides AP, Harvin, and Ponder the Vikes are old. They could trade that pick for soooo much, and Ponder doesn't look terrible.

But as you said, what happens if Luck is the next Peyton. Then you better hope all those other picks and Ponder develop.
