People keep making this comparison, but Mario Williams weighs almost 300 pounds. There has never been an effective 3-4 OLB who was as heavy as Mario Williams. He is not at all the same kind of player as Demarcus Ware.

Moving Williams to rush LB will have one of two outcomes; he will set the league on fire and change the position like LT did or it will be a total disaster. I don't see a whole lot of middle ground for that experiment.

I agree man, Mario is 2 inches taller and 30 pounds more. It will be interesting to see what he does in the 3-4. How many times does one of the top DEs in the league switch to an OLB? Not often.

I love the comparison of Rich Gannon. Never thought of that before.

Jovan Haye was a pretty decent player in previous stints, at the time he was a good pickup, he just hasn't panned out.

    Nate isn't bad either.

    J-Mac...that was just bad.

All of us Texans fans are anxious to find out how it's gonna work. Supposedly Mario dropped 20 lbs. Wade Phillips is known for changing his defense to play to his players' strengths, not the other way around. He calls it a 5-2 front, rather than a 3-4. If all else fails, I'm sure we would just switch him back to DE.

Haye has pretty much sucked on the Titans, although he was replacing Big Al.. and those are big shoes to fill.

Nate isn't bad, he drops to many open deep balls. But, he is a good down the field threat. 89 catches, 1156 yards, 12 TDs in 2 years in TN (with up and down QB play) is not bad. I didn't expect Nate to be a #1 WR when he was signed, just a solid #2/#3 guy.. and he's been that IMO.

Don't get me started on J-Mac, what a waste.
