My PS3 is housed in an entertainment unit and is consistently running hot.

I have seen a few cooling units available on the web and wondered if they were any good.

Is the PS3 in an enclosed area?

you could increase ventilation with a small desk fan. One about the size of a baseball. That wouldn't set you back much. You can find small fans like that at discount merchandisers like wal-mart or target.

"The Air Flo would appear to be an excellent solution for PS3 owners who tuck the console into an entertainment cabinet or crowd it among other hot electronics and have experienced overheating as a result,"

however i did just read that using the attached cooling units can void your warranty.

you shouldn't need an extra cooling system with a setup like that, something could be wrong with your ps3, is your fan working?

also, turn the fan the opposite direction ,so air is being removed fro the area instead of being forced back in... I hear some of the best cooling 'mods' are made from simple PC case fans. place one (or however many) against the ps3 vents and force the air away from the unit.....

many people make the mistake of trying to force cool air IN
the idea is to get the hot air OUT
