Naw. But he's probably a late first or second round guy at best.

The draft is always driven by upside. Van Noy was the keys to getting Ansah drafted so high but even if he came out with Ansah last year... Ansah still goes well before him. VN is the type of guy I'd like to see us pull the trigger on late in the second tho.

I like this guy for his pass coverage ability, which the league is turning into. He is lighting fast and can rush the passer, had an impressive bowl game last year and destroyed Texas this year.

Yea I'm not saying he isn't talented, not at all. Just the type that slides in the draft.

I also don't think the league is just turning into a pure coverage league either. And it never will because the league works in cycles with certain teams are building to beat the teams in their division.

Team A is a pass happy team with a great QB. Their defense is built to stop the run more so because Team B is a run heavy team and their defense is built around coverage.

It's really a match up game more than it is a league wide movement.

Natural however, the league always moves to more athletic players.

The Broncos have gotten 9 sacks this year out of Shawn Phillips using him as a situational pass rusher. I think Ayers can be a similar guy for us.

We need a 4-3 linebacker or 2 who can fill a hole and stop the run. Brown and Ayers are not the most instinctual guys and while Brown can make up for that some with his great speed Ayers cannot.

If Mack or Barr are there when we pick i think we need to pull the trigger though Van Noy looks like a better fit and i really like him.

Remember Thornton who was only 230 lbs but a very solid SAM linebacker with good speed and great instincts and he could cover like a weak side guy. Thornton was better at that position than Ayers has been though Ayers has picked it up as a pass rusher. I want another guy like Thornton who would often blow plays up in the backfield because he saw what was coming.
