Am I crazy to think there's a chance AJ Green falls to us?

Whew, that's alot to ask for on passing up on such a talent. I just don't see AJ getting pass the Ohio teams in this draft.

Personally, if he did I highly doubt we would draft him. I'm all for getting Green, but I doubt he wears the 2 tone blue.

If Green is available at 8 we're going to get some calls from the Rams and Skins and we could easily get their 1st, 2nd, and their 2nd the next year.

We could get Locker with 10/14 then go defense with our picks in the 2nd round.

Hes not crazy, like i said this could be a bad top 10 draft if it goes need happy. If the 1st 7 teams pick need instead of BPA we will end up with either Prince or Green. Green, Britt CJ? Collins or a vet QB could manage with that. Our D plays better then ppl give credit for when we pressure but we needa blitz more. A qb will be avail in round 2 no reason to reachhhh for a qb at 8 who will have the same impact as a 2nd or 3rd round qb

Even in the unlikely scenario that Green is available at #8, the Titans couldn't possibly draft him unless they plan to release Britt. That's way too much money to tie up at wide receiver and it's not even a position of need (it's behind QB, DE, DT, LB and maybe CB and S in terms of need).

If Green is available, I think the only option for the Titans is to try to trade back a few spots or, failing that, just pass on Green completely.

That's a good point that I wasn't even really thinking about. However, you do have to consider that there will in all likelihood be a much improved rookie pay scale once the new CBA is agreed upon. Maybe it wouldn't be as much money as you think.

Also, Britt's contract really isn't all that bad. It's worth roughly $12 million overall with about $6 million in guaranteed money.

    Britt's base salaries:
    2009: $310,000
    2010: $395,000
    2011: $575,000
    2012: $755,000
    2013: $897,000

It's Washington's contract that is really the killer. What a mistake that was. :sad2:

    Nate Washington:
    2011: $3.3 million
    2012: $3.4 million
    2013: $4.2 million
    2014: $4.8 million

With the Britt stuff now the need for a WR is higher.

    1. QB
    2. DE
    3. DT
    4. WR
    5. LB

When we didn't have Britt last year our offense was miserable and even though we need a lot of help on defense it's not like we had that good of an offense. Assuming we do have a season is it that bad to draft Green then go defense and aquire a QB to fill in till we draft one next year? Even if we don't have a season we'll still have another draft so maybe get a QB that might be better then? It would be amazing to have CJ, Britt, and Green on offense. Of course QB too but free agency could fix that for a bit.

Just having some fun with this...
    1. Green
    2. Mallett (maybe we get lucky or trade up)
    3-5. Defense

Either way top WRs aren't that important. Build the D.
