Alex Smith visits Dolphins

Tried to secretly get Peyton (which nobody has confirmed to this day other than "sources") and backfired, losing their safety valve at QB.

I hope the 9ers are forced to sign Alex Smith today.

or i hope Miami gets him, 9ers miss Peyton then end up with nothing.

 

That is a good sign for the 49ers IMO. They are obviously confident enough in their chances at Manning that they are will to let Smith talk with other teams and possible lose him.

 

Not sure if they are very confident they will get him, or if they just got busted.

 

Could be Alex is mightily po'd over the fact that his agent AND his team super dissed him and he decided both were going to be taken off his Xmas list.

 

makes no sense....no 8 hour visit, but I feel like Peyton is about to sign with them.

 

One of the speculations I just heard on NFL Network was that peyton and Alex smith are both represented by agent Tom condon - could the agent know Peyton's decision is the 49ers and is telling him to start looking for other options?

I don't personally think this is the case but it is an interesting thought

the longer Peyton waits the worse it is for the 49ers...I think they'll fold and resign Alex Smith.

 

I thought Alex Smith fired Condon and was getting new agent?
