Highest rated QB (per QB rating) in the NFL last year?

Yes, I do know what I'm getting in Alex Smith and that is someone who is better the Kevin Kolb.

    A game manager. I'm just saying, I wouldn't trade anything more than a 3rd.

You're right... he's better than Kolb, but that's not saying much, and the Chiefs are not the Niners.

He will never put up those type of numbers again. The Niners have the best OL in the game with a top 10 RB and several good weapons in the passing game. Plus, on the other side of the ball they have the best front 7 in the league.

The defense forces so many 3 and outs and/or punts that give Smith so many opportunities to score. The Chiefs have a lot of talent on defense (Hali, Flowers, Berry), but they are still far from being anywhere near a "good" team, with or without Smith.

I do believe they are doing the right thing in trading for him. They can still draft a QB somewhat early or wait until next year... and let Smith be the starter for the next few years.
