what does that do to us if we draft someone like coples if he falls to us or if we somehow sign mario??
I would be thrilled with either of those 2 guys, but I highly doubt we get either. So at the end of the day, Ayers will likely be our best option to get after QB's in passing situations.
Does it seem to everyone else that some of the most talented players coming out of college fit a 3-4 system instead of a 4-3? And I’m not asking this because a 3-4 is the sexy thing to do these days but are we handicapping ourselves by not switching schemes? It seems this year out of every year it would be the easiest to do because basically we have 1 DE and 4 or 5 DTs. All we’d have to do is draft 1 or two rush linebackers like Cortney Upshaw to play along with Ayers, McCarthey, McGrath, and Witherspoon. Heck, we could probably get 2 descent stand up/ rush the passer LBs in this draft. It seems to be full of them. Whereas the draft seems really thin at DE.
Passing situations is the key words. If we can re-sign Jones that would be an ideal 4 down linemen Morgan/Klug/Jones/Ayers. Hoping Morgan can keep up with how he finished this past year. Get McCarthy and another LB to help cover. Hoping for a Bulluck type weak side backer
We shall see. Not to say you're wrong, just a better word choice would have been to say possible moving to de on passing Downs and give your explanation why you think so. You just came out and talked like it was already garunteed. I honestly thought I miss read a couple times before I responded. I rereadcuz I thought I missed it... but I didn't. He talks about him as a DE in the bucs scheme and that we have some good rush linebacker prospects. I don't it sucks jcbrave. He's nomally spot onwith his news and posts.
Yea I see what you're saying. My apologies if I mislead you. But at the end of the day my money says he will be a DE on 3rd & longs. Not full-time, but just certain situations.
