AFC still wide open

Hmm, I'm inclined to think Houston will have clinched the South by then. Even a pessimistic outlook on their schedule would see them go 3-2 with losses to Cinci and Atlanta before our meeting in week 17. That would put them at 10-5.

An optimistic look at our schedule would see us go 4-2 in the same span with losses to New Orleans and Atlanta, putting us at 9-6. At that point even a win wouldn't be enough as we'd lose on division record: 5-1 vs 3-3.

 

Agreed.

Our team is a bunch of bullies. If we come out swinging and they let us beat them, we will. But when teams start fighting back with us, we wear-out and fold. I hope we can turn into more than a 5-4 team. Last year we were sitting exactly at 5-4 this same time, and fell apart, but I like our chances this year.

 

Houston (sucks) has a 2 game advantage, plus won the first game against us, plus is undefeated in the division.

It's not impossible, but I don't see them implode like the Ravens vs. Seahawks with their schedule.

No. I don't see it happening even if we play well the rest of the season and beat the Texans in the final game.

I don't see us any better than 10-6 and I don't see the Texans any worse than 11-5.

I think we'll have to be a wildcard team... still possible. We just need to hope the Jets, Bills, and Ravens/Bengals collapse and miss the playoffs.

The Bills will definitely miss... glad to see them sucking seeing as we play them in three weeks.

 

The fact of the matter is this, Houston has to lose a couple of games between now and our rematch for us to even think of it having such an affect as to determining who wins the AFC South. Oh and then there is us having to basically win out the rest of the season.

 

The Titans need to start winning some games against AFC opponents...

 

Never underestimate the potential for Houston to choke. It's in their bovine dna. This thing isn't even close to over.

 

We seem like an 8-8 team to me..
