I said something similiar not too long ago and nearly got hung.

Most of these players better be thankful they make as much as they do. Lord knows you would not make it to far in the real world with common sense like that.

This doesn't make me like Adrian Peterson any less, despite his comments he actually is a smart guy. Poor choice of words, sure. But if he feels like a slave, who are we to criticize that.... He may really feel under appreciated, thats slave like I guess. He runs 7 times in a row only to see a white man pass the ball inside the 5-yard line for the TD. I struggle to pay my bills just like the rest of us, but I get it done at the end of the day. I'm not going to use that to throw in A.P.'s face because he makes $10M and I don't. Say what you want about the guy after this little article, but I'd still have him over 97% of the leagues RB's.

I'm not trying to defend him here, just trying to understand where he's coming from in this.

I'd take him over all RBs in the league.

Well if he does hook up with a Kardashian sister, I'll take him too :) . You get with a Kardashian, and you win a title.

Underappreciated??? Really??? He is making $10MM per season. I am guessing that he is the highest paid RB in the league (but may be wrong...did not consult a stat book before posting). How else are you supposed to show appreciation??

Maybe having someone pass for the TD inside the 5 has something to do with his habit of coughing the ball up...

OK I'm abandoning this, just because I've trashed him enough in debating C.J. or A.P., and don't disagree. I did say i was just trying to see how he could relate his situation to slavery. He probably goes sick on someone when they say "those people".

Understand, and agree with your statement that it was a poor choice of words by him. I am guessing that he regrets saying it already, because he has always seemed to be very articulate to me otherwise.

I just think that this whole labor fiasco has everyone churned up, and we will likely hear more gaffes from both sides before it is over.

Slave was a very bad analogy but the fact is that these players are in a VERY odd position as employees.

Please elaborate....to me these players are paid alot of money for a pretty hazardous and short career...which is a market based exchange of value IMO.
