WRONG. He wound up with 1364 yards when he said he would get 2000 again!
BECAUSE WE STARTED 0-6 WITH COLLINS!!!!! We actually had a qb playing the final ten games and went 8-2!!!!!!!1
So we don't need Chris Johnson running for 200 yards a game to win, we need a competent QB.
And him running for a lot of yards helps as well and translates to wins! If CJ runs for over 200 more than likely we are going to win that game!
Except for all the games we've lost with Chris Johnson. Two winning seasons since CJ got drafted. Rushing for a bunch of yards don't mean ****. Ask Barry Sanders.
Well, it certainly does help - if you have a good QB.
I do agree with what you're saying, of course. Just like passing for a ton of yards means nothing - see Matthew Stafford and Carson Palmer.
CJ is just the wrong kind of back for this current team. He's a bad fit. We don't need a flash player who can make one big play in the game and then disappear for his next eight to ten carries.
He was perfect for that 2008 team. Strong defense, decent QB and a good O-line. All we needed on offense was one big play to turn the tide of the game then we'd rely on the best defense in the league to hold off the other team.
Sure, if you get 400 carries. Won't happen, passing game got better. Ponder should be healthy, plus Jennings and Patterson added.
Set your goals high, if anybody can do it... it's AP.
AP will probably win the rushing title again, but he won't get back to 2,000. That said my dream situation would be to get CJ to 1500-1600 and Greene 700-800. I doubt we see a huge improvement from CJ touchdown wise because the way I see it, Greene should be the goal line back, we'll only see touchdowns from CJ on whatever home runs he hits.
difference is one is a machine and the other is an undersized scat back.
