If the author-fan in BR is impressed with Mcnair's career 83 passing rating what about Phillip Rivers and Tony Romo's 95?

So i can say that Romo with his 95 career rating is better than Elway or Marino then?

Chad Pennington has a career rating of 90. Hall of fame material?

In the 93 year history of the nfl there are 23 modern era Qbs in the HOF. Mcnair was not that elite!

Being a HoF player is a mark of personal excellence in your era of play and Warren Moon has that. Winning the Super Bowl is a team stat and that alone shouldn't keep a QB out or get a guy into the HoF.

What if you didn't win a super bowl and are only ranked 34th in career passing yardage?

Mcnair is ranked 34th and like Eddie his rank will fall with time. Active QBs are passing him up.

both EG and McMVP were much more than the numbers on a page.

Look at that ratbird PO game in Baltimore the Titans won in 03. EG was 25 of 88 and an idiot would look at the 3.5 ypc and declare that the ratbirds shut EG down - or some idiotic thought along that path.

EG crushed Murdermore with a dislocated shoulder. Not all 3.52 ypc days are created the same

while I agree the vast majority of big market idiots will not take the time too see just how dominate EG and McMVP were because it is easier too just dismiss the small market players with less than dominate numbers. But they do so from a position of ignorance and bigitory

So it is all about emotion now? You need a kleenex?

So one playoff game makes a hall of famer now? What about the 03 loss to the Pats? The 02 loss to the Raiders and the 2000 loss to the Ravens? If they were both hall of fame caliber players they would have gotten it done and won a super bowl. That's the difference between hof players and just good players.

As for market size WTF does that have to do with anything? The size of the market has nothing to do with what kind of numbers somebody has. Eddie and Steve were not good enough long enough.
