There is an economic crisis going on in Greece. In my opinion there is an obvious connection between the turmoil there and the people questioning it. On the surface, it may seem like a surreal and disturbing film. Personally, I thought of it as a very black comedy...you can't deny that the scene where they dance for their parents is hilarious.

    My thoughts exactly.

I'm no musician, but I could see someone being able to compose the score for TSN. Seemed simple. Inception though? I listen to it and think 'how the hell does someone begin composing this?'... can't wrap my brain around it, really.

Plus, you can hear 5 seconds of Inception's score and think 'Inception'. That's a rare thing. Shows how much more different it was than other scores.

I guess that's the problem... all I got was surface. I know there is a great movie in there somewhere, but the end product left a lot to be desired.

The "dancing" scene was probably the most powerful scene in the movie. Yeah it was funny, but it also showed the struggle "the elder" was going through in an interesting way. It was like watching a toddler trying to exert some form of independence through an unfamiliar medium.

Aren't composer awards always won by Williams or Zimmer?

Hans Zimmer, by and large, is a very overrated composer.

The Inception score is incredible though. His best in years. A lesson on how to do an epic AND engaging soundtrack without recycling chords and progressions. Nothing about that soundtrack is typical IMO.

"Time" is easily the best song from any score of last year. Not even close.

I don't get it.... you backed this claim up by posting variations on a four-note riff?

I encourage anyone who digs the Inception score to check out the Inception Dream app. Takes the score to new levels via the use of live delay effects, media mic and whatever ambient sounds happen to be occurring around you at the time.. Very cool stuff..

Yeah, I saw that via facebook but I don't have an iPhone. The one app out of billions that I'd actually want to check out.
