Alex, I got a little project for you. Go get on Madden, load up the Titans vs steelers.. Make sure the steelers run Zone Blitz on defense every play.. and u lock down Vince Young to throwing 2-3 yard passes and run CJ right up the middle each play and come back and report the stats to me. Make sure VY doesnt throw any passes over 2-3 yards though.

There's just some serious haters on these boards. Young never got to throw the ball 30 times a game let alone 40 or 50. With his attempts, his YPA were highest in the league. He did that without Kenny Britt, Moss, and even DWill a majority of the time.

Rodgers had a decent game, but it was his consistency that pushed him up in my opinion not some spectacular performance.

I'd agree the Packers are more talented on offense than the Titans but the difference isn't huge. A healthy Britt along with Washington and Williams along with CJ isn't all that bad. In fact I'm not sure Rodgers wouldn't make those guys look a heck of a lot better. Even Cook was coming on as a player near the end of the season.

I still feel like Young has the chance to prove he's the better QB. He didn't get his shot this season.

If you asked me who I'd rather have leading me down the field in the 4th quarter it'd be Young though.

Obviously, you didn't see the film break down of VY's 2 Ints against the steelers, the one where Justin Gage obviously ran the wrong route. The guy on NFL network said... "That's the difference between a 40 catch per year guy and an 80 catch per year guy"

That speaks volumes... and what does Fisher and Jim Wyatt do? gage never owned up to it. He was never accountable. What did everyone do? They used innuendo to throw VY under the Bus.

    Interesting.

Young has proven he can beat any QB in our division. He destroyed the Texans numerous times, cruised pas Jacksonville several times, and has even beaten and played competitevly with Manning and the Colts in their heyday.

With our offensive weapons our offense would be the most exposive (again) in the league. #1 scoring offense with VY early in the season. No Britt, Cook, or Williams.

Reading your posts, I'm really wondering what you think Young's "upside" or potential is? Clearly you think he can be better than Rodgers? So, better than Brees, Manning and Brady? Better than Steve Young, Kurt Warner, or the greatest QB ever, Joe Montana?

You just seem to be assigning Young some huge upside based on hope and dreams and not on performance. I think Young has alot more potential than what he's shown if he ever gets it together, but to say he has more potential than a Super Bowl MVP in Rodgers who played a great game against the #1 defense is incredible to me.

    Upside is meaningless without dilligence.
Genious is 99% perspiration and 1% inspiration. I agree that Young has some of the 1% inspiration but the perspiration has been lacking.

That has no bearing on what he is capable of in the pros. VY does have potential, but as one coach said.."You're potential is going to get me fired." Hopefully being cut/traded is a wake up call for him to do the things necessary to reach that potential.
