how is this possible, is this a new rule?

In case you don't know what I'm talking about, the Bengals Vs. Eagles had a tie game today/

New rule? There have been ties through out the history of the NFL.

Overtime only lasts one quarter so if nobody scores it is a tie. Not like college where they have a goofy though exciting format that could last forever and sometimes almost does.

Never knew it was in the rule book? It has been that way(In regular season) since overtime was adopted like 35 years ago! Of course during the playoffs they play forever until someone scores.

A QB doesn't know that rule?
