I was watching the NFL network and they were saying they expect to see up to 6 Offensive tackles taken in the 1st round with 4 to 5 being before our pick. This is pretty new to me since I've not seen any mocks thus far including that many tackles.

If in fact there are 5 tackles taken in the first 23 picks that is a very good sign for us. It doesn't matter what you want DE, CB, WR or RB there should be a damn good one available when we pick.

We've probably already decided on the 3rd best of whatever's available anyway. lol

Maybe and that could be a good thing if that person is available.

The third best DE = Philip Merling, Quintin Grooves, or Derek Harvey depending on the scout.

The third best WR = Thomas, Hardy, or Kelly

The third best RB = Charles, Jones or Stewart

The third best CB = Mike Jenkins, Aqib Talib, or Patrick Lee

None of those guys are bad selections at the 24th spot. That is the point with up to 5 OTs being taken one or more of those guys will be available for us.

Its not that they're bad selections. Kevin Dyson wasn't a BAD selection, but he wasn't a Moss.

There were reasons why we didn't like Moss and they were legit and still are today; pacman has proven this. If you think about it if the Vikings had that draft over do you think they still would have selected Moss. In 1982 there were 5 QBs taken in the first, yet the only 2 that panned out were the 1st and the last. They were John Elway and Dan Marino.

The draft is and always will be a gamble there have been lots of 1st over all selections that have been busts so the fact that Dyson didn't pan out is not a surprise. All you can do is your homework and hope it is correct.

I think a couple of QB's will also be picked before our turn.

we should be able to pick up what we need. we tend to get guys named Chris for some reason. lol

Don't care what the reasons are. We bombed on that one.

Moss wouldn't be putting up the numbers he did in Tennessee anyway.

Yeah right and moss will be in the hall of fame and dyson was a nobody. A guy like moss was exactly what this team needed and did not have. With moss we maybe win 2 super bowls from 99-03 because all the other elements were there.

Except a passing game for half that span.
