The BOTTOM Line is.. unless he's scrambling around he does nothing. The day he was drafted anyone that thought he would be a decent pocket passer is halucinating. This year, since he got hurt he's been afraid to run, many times he could have run 5-7 yrds for a 1st down on 3rd down, yet opted to throw a errant pass. Take away his legs and he's brutal.

I feel the negativity is justified, because Vince is not playing well right now, and it has been that way for several weeks in a row. Now having said that, many people (TitanPride) are taking it to far.

To even suggest that he is a bust at this point in his career is amazing. It shows you really don't know what you are talking about.

Look at Ryan Leaf (the biggest bust ever), even at this point in his second year no one knew he would be a bust. Look at Kurt Warner he was sacking groceries by this time in his career, yes no one labled him a bust, but they labled him as not good enough for the NFL, yet look what he did (Superbowl Champ & MVP). Nothing is set in stone so to come here and rant like you do is ignorance at its best.

I am pretty sure that these comments are based out of certain individuals need to show the world that they were right and we were wrong.

If that is what you crave talk to me in five years and if VY was the second coming of Ryan Leaf I will gladley stroke your ego and say "Wow TitanPride you were absolutly right, I can't believe we didn't listen to you. We are not worthy to stand in your presence, or whatever else you want to here to make yourself feel all warm and cudly inside. Until then give it a rest, if you want to complain thats fine, but this " he is the worst ever, lets compare him to rex grossman & sean king crap needs to stop.

If you want to criticize and compare him to others do it with facts that can be proven not the facts you find in your head.

I'll give you an example in case you don't know what I mean.

Now compare Young's #s with HOF Warren Moon, and please keep in mind that he was not a rookie even though it was his first and second year in the NFL.

In short it is impossible to tell if he is a bust, sucks, will be average, or an HOF, so please stop stating these things as if it is a known fact. If you are looking for praise and validation buy a dog, I'm 75% sure that at least he will think the things you say are correct and will love you for it.:moon2:

The bottom line is this....he is a young QB who has started only about one seasons worth of games. He has a phenomenal record and won ROY. And because his stat line isn't awesome he is being labeled as a brutal QB for the rest of his career by some. If this was year 3 or 4 and people were making those assumptions I might believe them. Anyone who thought that midway through his second season throwing to a collection of 3rd string WRs he would be a top flight passer was halucinating.

Dude..sorry, but it's not the so called '3rd string receivers' faults when the passes are consistently thrown over their heads, too short or behind them. He looks petty lost/confused out there.

You're right ...Vince Young wouldn't look any different if his recievers were Harrison and Wayne.

Maybe you should have this arguement in 5 years when the proof is in front of you.

Look back at Vince's performance as a rookie:

Early in the year, he played poorly, and put up numbers that were eerily similar to this year's numbers. At the time, Fish and Chow were molding him to become the QB they wanted him to become....playing under center and handing the ball off a lot.

But then they opened up the offense a bit, making liberal use of the shotgun, and using Vince as the focal point of the offense....and he flourished. Granted, his passing numbers were far from spectacular...but in an offense more suited to his strengths and playing style, but he started making plays. Within a matter of weeks, he was no longer Vince Young....he was VY, and everybody knew it.

But this year, that offensive approach is nowhere to be found. Once the defense showed that they were the real deal, Fisher circled the wagons and started playing hardcore Fisherball again.....putting Vince under center, making him play conservative football, and neutralizing his playmaking ability.

Last week may have been a turning point. Once the Titans went down 21-3, the offense ran almost exclusively from the shotgun.....and they started making plays. Vince had some mistakes, true....but he also made a number of near-spectacular plays that we simply haven't seen from him this year.

It's time to let Vince be Vince....again. Let him play in his comfort zone more often, a put him in a position to take advantage of his ability. Fisherball doesn't do that.
