Sorry. Not too big on the touristy honky-tonks, bro.

    Forgive me.

And all this is relevant to our drafting of Mettenberger how?

Take your arguments to IM and keep them out of this thread.

    Don't hate it at all.

    I'm just honest about it.

See... much like sports. I can be a fan of a team without being delusional.

    You guys struggle with that.

Nashville sucks but who cares it has nothing to do with football.

This was my favorite draft pick unlike Rusty Smith this guy has potential plus his not the Alabama guy.

God I loved this pick. If you guys remember my Qb thread, I had Mettenberger ranked as my 6th QB -- ahead of McCarron (who stinks), Garappolo & Savage.

This guy is NOT your typical 6th round QB. Terrific value. I thought he could go on day 2. Ultimately his failed drug test & acl inj hurt him.

Talk about a big, strong arm and an accurate one at that. He throws a great deep ball too. 2 knocks would be his lack of mobility (our OL should be good though) and I think he needs to do a better job when blitzed. He seems to panic and make poor decisions for a guy who's usually accurate.

    I dunno if he'll be the answer but he's 10000% worth a flier in the 6th + our 7th.

The only reason I don't like this pick is because, he could be our starting qb day one. I don't think he is ready and it brings to light that our qb situation is horrible. as a 6th round pick inthink he has great value and no risk, I just don't think he'll ever be a top ab in this league. but, a solid backup, he's got that. now I guess we'll wait til next year for our starter.

why? why could he not be our starter? what reasons do you have that leads you to believe he is a career backup?

From what I gathered re-watching the footage of him be drafted - NFLN seemed on board while ESPN namely Todd McShay did not like it much if at all.

Didn't watch much tape of him and still haven't watched any of his highlights on YouTube but from what I heard ..

Yes he has elite arm strength but

Statue, foot in ground doesn't move at all, no foot speed what so ever, stands there and takes big hits...

If he does start - better hope that o-line they keep investing in keeps him up right

He sounds like like a much younger Kerry Collins.
