So I did a little bit of research to see how compensatory picks are given, I knew it had to do with FAs lost but didn't know the selection of what round the team was given. Basically it depends on how many free agents were lost and how many were gained. Then it depends on a formula based on the player's salary, playing time, and postseason honors with his new team, with salary being the primary factor. Max of 4 picks per team. So here is who we lost - new team - their salary - playing time: Chris Simms - Broncos - 2yr/6mil - Appeared in 3 games Brandon Jones - 49ers - 5yr/16.5mil - 8 Games (1Catch)* Daniel Loper - Lions - 1yr/?? - 8 Games Albert Haynesworth - Redskins - 7yr/100mil - 12 Games* Chris Carr - Ravens - 2yr/5mil - 16 Games Eric King - Lions - 1yr/1.6Mil - 4 Games *= Player was injured The only main players we signed: Nate Washington, Jovan Haye, Mark Jones, DeMarcus Faggins. The way I look at it we'll get a 3rd for Big-Al. 4th/5th from Brandon Jones. 5th/6th from Chris Carr. Possibly a 7th from Chris Simms. What do you guys and gals think?
