I was always told basketball is a contact game, football is a collision game.

 

College teams with good kickers and a lot of speed are consistently just kicking the ball high and inside the five to keep the returner from getting past the 25.

This rules works in college because not a lot of kickers have the ability to drop the ball inside the five consistently, but NFL kickers will have a field day with this.

 

You've got guys literally mentally handicapping themselves and yet people still claim they are 'wussifieing' the game.

They are all aware of the risk of football, if they do like it, don't play. Every job has its risk and most don't pay millions of dollars to assume those risk.

 

Am I wrong? This isn't the same game of 10 yrs ago much less 25 years ago when I was. Thing is I see more injuries today than I did before they started "protecting" the players. I'm old enough to remember Conrad Dobler and Alan Paige... just saying.

You think it's Roger? It's the NFL players union, suing every year for more injury benefits and such. Even though they get the NFL insurance for their lifetime.
