    1. Chuck Cecil is an idiot.

Not much needs to be said, if you watched the game, you know what I'm talking about.

    2. We're not making it past the 1st round (if that) with Kerry Collins at Quarterback

On paper, Collins played a pretty good game, in fact, even if you were watching the game for the first 3 quarters he played well enough. But once again, when we needed him most, he couldn't step up. We had the ball in a 10-10 tie with 2:18+ left on the clock, and Kerry picks the worst time to let the blitz rattle him as he throws the ball away on 2 of the 3 plays in probably the most crucial series of the game, both times he had a WIDE OPEN receiver 15-20 yards down field.

I've preached this all offseason, and I'll continue to say it. Championship teams have Championship Quarterbacks. If you can honestly see us winning the Superbowl with Kerry Collins at QB your fooling yourself. And I know some of you will say, "Oh but it wasn't Kerry's fault we lost the game." thats a load of crap. The QB gets the blame just as much as he gets the glory. He couldn't do it against Baltimore, and he couldn't do it last night. The differecne between us and the Steelers is Ben Roethlisberger, Big Ben isn't even that great a Quarterback, he's probably not even as good as Kerry, but he's clutch as hell and makes plays when his team needs him too.

It hurts to say this, but the Better team won the game last night, we couldn't even take advantage of the losses of Woodley and Polamalu. Kerry had ample oppurtunities to put that game away but he fails to make any type of game changing play or throw.

It's not that kerry was rattled. He's just imobile, a statue, and if the line breaks down then he usually cannot make a play. And the better team lost. It was the baltimore game all over. We lost because the offense could not hold the ball long and the defense was playing all out all game until the 4th quarter and ot rolled around and we were too tired to genrate a rush. The offense must be able to hold the ball. And we gotta limit mistakes. Or else we will continue to give away games.

    TheSureThing,
This is why I still like our No. 2 QB more.

    4th Quarter
    Kerry Collins 5/8 47 Yards
    Ben Roethlisberger 11/11 106 Yards

I agree Collins played a great game, but I'm convinced when the games on the line, and we need a drive, win or go home, he's not going to be able to come through, and we don't have the "go-to" receiver to bail him out. When its tied or we're trailing late in the 4th, the game is on the Quarterback and nobody else, and Collins the last 2 games, two massive games, hasn't produced.

Had our kicker made 1 of 2 easy field goals, Kerry's performance would have been plenty to win the game for us.

Bottom line. Kerry is only effective if our line blocks. But with all defenses stacking the box to stop CJ, Kerry will have to learn to produce with pressure on him. Which he can't do. I don't know what the hell we are gonna do.

So what do you expect Kerry to do with guys running into his face mostly unblocked? I did not see any WRs exactly reading blitz and making adjustments so he had a hot read to throw to.

Kerry played very well last night...that loss was not on him. Missed and blocked FG and the drop by Gage in the endzone [though it was a tough catch to make]...that is 13 points and the game. Heck...one FG and its the game possibly.

We lost the game, in my opinion, because we did not do what the Steelers did, which is keep up the pressure on Ben. THAT contributed to at least 2 of their scoring drives and is why your #1 is more to blame than anything.

Now your making excuses for him, I'm not worried about what happened earlier in the game. The situation was 10-10, 2 minutes left. Kerry couldn't win the game, and Big Ben won it twice...

    1. if we play defense like that all season, there will be nothing to worry about.

    2. As for Kerry? Don't sell that other defense short, either. They are, after all, the champs.
