    1960 rules!

you can drive 100mph to get to your water bound dirigable! Luckily there are still steel towns, but I did notice a complete lack of football stadiums. At least the apartments have landing spaces for auto-gyros so we had that to look forward to.

I think they tore down the stadiums because they were all near the slums that the new super highways simply bypass altogether. There just wasn't room for them in the well placed city parks.

    As campy as that looks,
the one thing you can say about the people of 1939
is that they looked to the future as being a place BETTER OFF than what they had then.

    How about today?
Do we look to the future as a place better off than today?

I think most people today feel worse about the future than at any time in our countries history.
    That is sad...

Its true, were at a time where everyone wants everything for themselves, no one knows whats next, were living in days where there isnt much of a look to the future except for the very near future, the world lives on the edge, theres a small sense of stability, but I dont think its there in reality. You look now, and its not like in the old days where we wanted teh future to be good, like we expected it, nowadays we just hope the future isnt bad

Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!
