‘Steve McNair: A Football Life’ airs Wednesday

Eh... he was a good player. Amongst thousands of others.

 

"Good" players don't win an MVP award and get talked about as possibly being HoF worthy.

 

He's HOF eligible. and so is every other player that retired the same year he did. He is in the tops of the players he retired with, but I don't think he's really in the HoF conversation.

People have been debating if he's HoF materiel since the day he retired. He's absolutely worth talking about.

The stats suggest he was just a good franchise QB, but the play says otherwise.

If Bob Griese and Sonny Jurgensen are HoF QB's, then McNair can get talked about.

 

Griese and jurgenson played in an era that was tough on QBs. Mcnair played recently, in this era that is very QB friendly. McNair was a team player, not a guy with tremendous stats.

this system puts him at 146 all time. A good QB, not best all-time. The MVP award is his lone major accomplishment. No SB. If he had these stats, and two Super Bowl wins, he might be in the running.

 

McNair played under Jeff Fisher, he had it hard too.

 

Only people talking about McNair being in the Hall of Fame are crazy Titans fans.

Sorry, but no. Not even close.

 

I repeat if we win that Superbowl, he would have been in the HOF! End of story. First black qb to win MVP. And he would have been only the second black qb to ever win superbowl.

 

That's not even true, of course we talk about it, but other teams fans do too.

And if you've been paying attention, I've never said he was HoF material. I'm just saying if we're discussing whether he is or isn't, he might be.

You don't hear anyone talking about Kerry Collins being in the HoF QB do you, and he's got more yards than just about every QB to ever play.
