INDIANAPOLIS During the past four seasons, veteran safety George Wilson roamed the secondary in Buffalo with Pro Bowler Jairus Byrd.

After agreeing to a two-year, $4 million deal with the Titans, Wilson will be paired with free safety Michael Griffin in Tennessee.

Wilson said he thinks it’s a great fit.

“Just coming off the opportunity I’ve had to play with an elite safety in Jairus, now I get to continue my playing career alongside another elite safety in Griffin,” Wilson said. “For us, and with his playmaking ability, and both of our playing experience, I really think we can help shore up the secondary moving forward and I am just ready to get out there and compete with those guys.”

Griffin, who’s heading into his seventh season, played out of position during parts of 2012 as the Titans never really settled on his counterpart.

Now he’s expected to settle in at free safety, with Wilson taking over at strong safety.

In 92 career games with the Bills, Wilson racked up 362 tackles, 12 interceptions, 22 passes defensed, three forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries.

“Putting him back in his home position, free safety, and putting me in the box for the run game and being able to match up with the tight ends,” Wilson said. “We’ll just have to wait and see how it works out, but I’m looking forward to working with my new teammates.”

What do you get when you put Wilson and Griffin together?

    Wiffin!

    Bear with me LOL

The cool thing about this is, Griffin is more athletic than Byrd is, so maybe this experiment works out really well.

Apparently watching tape with the coaches isn't a part of the interview process.

Of course we could fill it. There are still other FA safeties. I'm not sure if there are any free safeties (other than Reed who isn't an option), but I'm sure one of the strong safeties could make the switch.

    Plus, there's the draft.

Believe me, its not hard to upgrade the free safety position.

I bet one of those tackling dummies would do a nice job.
