If the Niners get to kneel, Alex Smith should come in.

Despite the fact he's not great, he wasn't bad, obviously Kap proved to be better, but this has to be the first time I've seen a QB with over a 100 QB rating get benched, and he's been loyal. So the Niners should let him be able to tell his kids he PLAYED in a Superbowl. And if it's a blowout, he should even come in and get a couple of drives.

They way Alex Smith has been handling this whole thing makes me want to see him catch on somewhere else and be successful.

    Class act

Smith to Jets... Or Cardinals, but they need to fix their o-line before anything else.

I personally think putting him in to take a knee would make him feel worse.

Part of me hopes he gets to come in and take over for Kaepernick and lead the team to victory. Kinda like Bledsoe had to do against the Steelers when Brady went down in the AFC championship.

But that would mean Kap would be hurt, and I don't wanna see that. But if it were to happen, it would be nice to see Smith win the game.

Cardinals make sense. Use their 1st in an OT.

Totally agree. He should get a snap or a drive or something. He was a key part to getting that far before kaep so he deserves it

If I were him I wouldn't want to come in and take a knee. Like someone posted earlier I think that would make him feel worse.

I wouldn't want a 'pity drive' either. Just because he has been a class act through this whole thing doesn't mean its been easy on him. I am sure he is a competitor and it kills him that he is not starting this game. While I am sure he is happy for the success of his team, it has to sting a little too.

I am pretty sure he doesn't even want to pad up, he has been handling it well, but you can tell he is very bitter and rightfully so.

Maybe I'm a more bitter person or my opinion of the situations screwed up but if I was him and I had my chance taken from under me like he had his, I would probably be rooting against em... I'd rather see em lose then get a pity ring. Wouldn't even want to see that ring, or keep it or anything, it would be more bitter filled memories than anything... "Yea I was on a SB winning team, that year I got benched after i got hurt... Here my ring that they won"
