Munch. Will he or won't he?

Munch will be back.

I've always been a big supporter of giving a coach enough time to prove one way or another what he's made of and I usually say the cutoff is three years, but I really don't think he's earned that luxury. In 2012 we saw; 1-5 in the AFC south, 0-8 against playoff caliber teams and countless 21-point+ losses. Really no improvement at all from year one to year two.

Such is life as a Titans fan...

 

I think Coach Munchak can be a good head coach, but he will need to fire Jerry Gray and hire competent offensive and defensive coordinators. We'll also need a strong quarterbacks coach to bring Jake along at a much faster pace. He is not maturing at a comparable rate to other young quarterbacks in the league. Lastly, with regard to the rest of the coaching staff, a complete review of all the position coaches is in order given the timing of Munchak's hiring and subsequent assembling of his staff.

Once that's done, we'll need to upgrade the interior of our OL and bring in some receivers who will catch the football with some consistency. We have to re-sign Jared Cook as well.

On defense, we have to get to the quartback more frequently and improve our secondary. This includes getting rid of Griffin and Babineaux and upgrading our talent at safety and corner. Also, let us not forget how bad we are at covering the opponent's tight end, so a linebacker who has good pass coverage skills would help too.

We have the money to fix the personnel issues on this team. It's time we did that!

If he's not then Bud seriously needs to be committed. We beat up on a 2-14 team, big deal. Like I said earlier if Bud used this game as a measuring stick for the season he's lost whatever marbles he had left.

 

I do think Munch will stay but hopefully he hires new coordinators.

 

I want Munch gone too but honestly 2 new OC's may be better than a complete overhaul and hoping we can land a "top" coaching candidate. We're a playoff team when healthy and with a capable staff.
