Defensive end Derrick Morgan is tied for the team lead with two sacks, and leads all Titans in quarterback pressures with six. He also has 30 tackles. Defensive coordinator Jerry Gray said Morgan has played better than stats might show.

“He has done a tremendous job,” Gray said. “A lot of times you don’t get to see him make the ‘flash’ play. But you see him making the dirty plays. He is getting in the gaps … and he is doing things I haven’t seen him do since the beginning of the year and as long as he keeps doing that he’ll be on the right track.”

Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is getting rid of the ball fast – he’s been sacked only seven times this season. Morgan, a first-round pick in 2010, said the Titans hope to be disruptive on Sunday at Buffalo.

“I’ve got faith that our secondary is going to make him hold it, and give us an opportunity,” Morgan said. “I know we’re all going to work hard to keep staying after him.”

Morgan sacked Ben Roethlisberger in Tennessee’s win over Pittsburgh last week.

I've liked what Morgan has been doing for a while now, there's really only 1 or 2 fans that thought he was a bust or sucked.

the only issue i have is he is a FIRST ROUND PICK. we need more production in the sack column.

I'm sorta frustrated by that too, but let me remind you of some other 1st round picks that didn't put it all together

Cedric Jones...5th overall pick in 1996.......15 career sacks
Andre Wadsworth..3rd overall pick in 1998...8 career sacks
Dimitrius Underwood...29th overall pick in 1999...4 career sacks
Vernon Gholston...6th overall pick in 2008...0 career sacks

I could list lost more, point is, Morgan is better than all those guys, and has only had 8-9 games where he wasn't holding back because of his surgically repaired knee. Since really being over the knee thing, he's getting a sack nearly every other game. And pressure is important too, he's creating that, beating double teams, and playing with some intensity.

Morgan is one of the few things going right in 2012 under Jerry "dumb ass" Gray.

Morgan is just starting to get going. As long as he can stay healthy, I think he can really start to do some damage.

I don't think Morgan is anything other than a 5-6 sacks a year guy. But he's doing well with helping shut down the run game with Casey and Martin so I don't complain too much. Doesn't mean he makes up for that first round pick. Makes me want to go back and see who else we could have taken...

We still need a true threat at DE

Morgan is just average, and with a first rounder you hope for a star. It's that simple.

Just goes to show how low the bar has been set for this guy. Average is about right...I didn't see most of the Steelers game, but all I ever see from Morgan is over pursuit and him getting pushed out of plays/the pocket or taking bad angles. I hope he proves me wrong eventually, but to me he's a big disappointment.
