We just did blow it up and start over

    Remember two years ago. Fisher sucks. VY sucks. Everything sucks.
    We blew it all up.
    This is what happens.

    The Titans are driving me crazy and making me not want to watch more games, but ...

    1. Locker is for all practical purposes a rookie QB and we are going to have to accept his growth pains.
    2. The defense is young and frankly our most important player, Collin McCarthy is hurt.
    3. We are missing a starting DT in SenDerrick Marks who really looked to be ready to contribute in preseason.

    All of that said, not sure we made the right coaching hire. I would love to have Gruden or Cowher in place instead of Mike. He too is going through growing pains.

    What we know definitively at this point in time is:

    1. We have a horrible offensive line. Terrible run blocking, not much better pass protection though Jake's mobility kept him from recording a sack (but caused one INT).
    2. We have very little depth on defense and it wore out today after series after series of 3 and out.
    3. Griffin led the team with 16 tackles today. Not good. In general safety play, or safety play combined with linebacker play, is far below average. Today we let an old washed up TE dominate us ... a recurring pattern from last season.
    4. Kendall Wright is very good, a great first round choice. Brown made a lot of tackles today, but was lost as much as he was found. Martin held up through 2-1/2 quarters. Sensabaugh was on the field. Thompson, God bless his lost soul, was on the field. In short, the past two drafts have put a lot of young guys on the field ... and their inconsistency shows.
    5. Today was proof again that the team that wins the LOS wins the game. For the second week in a row we lost that battle.

    Right now we aren't very good. We are old or bad on the offensive line. We are young and not very good in a whole lot of places. And for whatever reasons CJ can not break a tackle any longer. Watching Frank Gore right now makes me miss a power back that much more.

    Munch is very much a question mark right now. But the same people who want to fire him were the ones that were ready to see Jeff kicked to the curb. Maybe we are learning that changing the coach isn't necessarily the fastest way to becoming competitive. Of course, if Munch can't get us better prepared to compete in these games, Gruden and Cowher are both available and either would b a huge upgrade.

    lol @ thinking we could ever get a big name coach here. We'll keep going internal hires or division 3 high school from now on.. book it.

    I do think the DL is improved. I thought picking Brown over David in the 2nd is going to hurt. Instead of getting a quality player we got a LB version of Chris Henry. So when McCarthy goes out we have Spoon who is to slow and old or Brown who is young, fast and clueless.
    At S we completely suck. Nothing more needs to be said there. Until we get better S play our defense will suck.

    On offense it all starts with the OL. Our OL right nwo is not adequate in either phase, running or passing. Locker is having to run for his life. I actually miss Scott because he could pass protect. Harris can do neither. We have no running game, thus no playaction pass and while we have the QB and horses to have a vertical passing game our QB doesn't have enough time.

    If you can't run the football, it's the domino which results in all others falling, IMO.

    I think Bud is more than willing to pay for a Super Bowl. He offered Peyton the moon and he was more than willing to pay Jeff. Adams needs this thing to happen NOW. Honestly, I can see him pulling the plug on Mike during the season if he is convinced he can get the big name guy he needs to win immediately in the offseason.

    Brown did have 11 tackles today ... but yeah ... I was with you on David and Brown does have a lot of room for improvement. I have some hope for 9 of our defensive guys. Just think safety play is awful and will never understand why we let Finnegan go. We miss him.

    Mike Munchak, at this point, is not the coach for this team. He is in over his head and is not the right fit for this football team. This reminds me of quite a few other rookie head coaches like Gregg Williams or Mike Mularkey. In over their heads.

    Here are some key stats over the past two games:

    First Downs: Them: 52 Us: 25
    Running Yards: Them: 310 Us: 58
    Time of Possession: Them: 74:40 Us: 45:20
    Third Down Conversions: Them: 16/29 Us: 6/25

    All the blame at this point has to go on the head coach and his coaching staff.

    Chris Palmer is a diaster as an OC and he has been everywhere he has been. Thats on MUnchak for the hire but I would get rid of Palmer tomorrow.

    This team needs new schemes. It is obvious the NFL knows exactly what the Titans are doing. No one is fooled at all.

    I am not that upset with the defense. They are young and need time and a little more talent. But your defense can only do so much when they are constantly on the field. They get worn down and beat up eventually if the offense is staying on the field.

    Its Palmer. He has to go and he will kill Lockers career.
