You'd trade CJ for a three week long case of explosive diarrhea though.

Haha, at least a 7th round conditional too!

The Lions can't afford to take on any huge contracts. The talk of them trading for CJ or MJD is silly. They are looking for a vet that otherwise might get cut. Probably offering a conditional 7th.

But yes, I would trade Ringer for pretty much a 6th or higher. I don't think he brings much to the table at all, and I think he'll be gone next season. I fully expect the Titans to spend an early pick on a running back in the next draft. To replace Ringer (and also maybe Harper), and also to push Johnson.

So you would trade CJ and pick up another RB with that pick? Why? Even if you do pick up a running back that puts up the same production as CJ (which you probably won't) with that pick then all you did was waste a pick that could've gone to OL,DL,S. Its not like CJ's contract is crippling this team or anything, but ignoring holes to pick up an RB when you already have one could.

Unless that RB is drastically underperforming his contract, that money could be used elsewhere AND have a RB that can pick up yards consistently.

I'm telling you now, after another terrible year from CJ, it's unjustifiable to keep him at his current price and lack of production.

I'd trade him for anything even loosely resembling a starting center. Unortunately, detroit doesn't have one.

Trade CJ for a 3rd??? I am not a CJ lover, but a 3rd round pick is not worth that much. We'd trade an inconsistently great RB for a pick we'd likely spend on a college longsnapper with great athleticism and size, that we're trying out at his high school position: tight end or something.

And then they'll be surprise when he flops.

I'll keep CJ, please and thank you.

If we do I want us to have at worst a 5th for him, at least a 5th rounder or better could come in and contribute the same as Ringer does now. He'll be gone for sure next year, so getting something for him would be a nice thing.
